Editor's note

This issue, Where I Live, is about where people spend some of the most important, mundane, and intimate moments of their lives. Many of the submissions were vivid and poignant and brought me much joy.

These 4 pieces came together as they responded to the question of “where do you live?” in different yet complimentary ways - as the fascinating character of a specific place, the community you create, the people you do life with, and the gritty realities of the place you inhabit. They each took me to a place I’d never been, and I feel changed for it. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Thank you to the artists who shared your stories. Even if they weren’t featured in this issue, I hope many other people get to read or see those pieces.
Thank you to the artists who allowed your stories and voices to be shared on our platform.
Thank you to TOK Studios who recorded and edited some of the audio content. Thank you to the helpful friend.
